Project Scope
The Averesti Estates Winery project began with a complete overhaul of their outdated WordPress-based website. As a prestigious Romanian winery with an extensive portfolio and a growing international presence, the client needed a digital presence that matched the quality of their wines.
Our scope was clear: design and develop a fully modern, visually appealing, and technically advanced website that would serve both branding and operational needs.
The new platform had to incorporate the latest web development standards, ensure high performance across devices, and align with current SEO best practices for both local and global visibility. From rethinking user flows to integrating responsive design and accessibility features, we created a tailored digital solution that would support the winery’s next phase of growth.
Challenges
One of the most complex aspects of this project was managing and synchronizing a large volume of technical wine data. The client maintained over 50 individual wine sheets within their Google Business Suite—organized in Google Spreadsheets—each requiring integration into the new platform. Every wine needed a downloadable, visually branded PDF technical sheet, generated dynamically and updated in real time.
Additionally, the site had to support a seamless browsing experience for wine catalogues and curated selections. As Averesti exports to multiple international markets, another major requirement was multilingual support: all website content and wine details, including the technical sheets, had to be translated into six languages, one of which was Simplified Chinese. This created logistical, technical, and linguistic challenges that required custom automation and localization solutions.
Solutions
To meet these requirements, we designed a visually refined, modern interface that complemented the winery’s heritage and premium positioning. Under the hood, we built a powerful, custom-made platform using PHP 8.3 and a NoSQL architecture tailored for speed and flexibility.
The system was engineered to automatically connect to and sync with the client’s Google Spreadsheets, ensuring that any updates to wine data were instantly reflected on the website. We integrated the Google Translate API to support real-time translation into six languages—including Simplified Chinese—maintaining accuracy and speed. PDF generation was fully automated for each wine’s technical sheet and catalogue entry, preserving brand consistency.
Additionally, the website was meticulously optimized for performance, achieving near-perfect scores on Google PageSpeed Insights, resulting in faster load times, better SEO performance, and an exceptional user experience across all devices.
